  • I’ve re-basted so many quilts half way through so I decided to try something new on this Flying quilt!

This time I only basted half at a time. So I basted the first half and quilted 3 inch lines. Then I basted the remaining half and finished my quilting. This one has a one inch grid.

Have you ever tried this? I’ll definitely be doing it again because it gave me a chance to make sure the second half of the quilt was just as smooth as the first.

  • I finished up this Lucky Links quilt top. 🍀 This one is sewn up in the new @fableism sun stripes + Checkmate. Lucky Links is an enjoyable one to sew up. It’s easy sewing with strip piecing and simple blocks. Plus that chain block makes such a statement.

  • Happy Monday! This scrappy #starfallquilt was just added to the blog. Star Fall is the weekly featured pattern. You can grab it on sale in the shop this week.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use yardage for solid columns of stars or cut all of your pieces from your scrap bins like I did here for this scrappy friendly version. The last photo is a more colorful scrappy option also sewn up from my scrap stash.

  • Here’s a look at my finished Flying quilt top! This one is sewn up in @artgalleryfabrics solids. I picked up this half bundle from @morgankellyquilts when she had them available.

This is a twin size and now I’m trying to work up the motivation to machine quilt it myself. It’s been a while since I have quilted a bed size quilt. 😅😅😅

  • Here’s a look at the grid quilting on my Scrappy Arrows quilt.

Some quilting details 👇
▪️I spray basted this one. I pieced together some leftover batting so it was a little wonky. Spray basting will keep it in place.
▪️ I first marked 3-6 inch spaced vertical lines.
▪️ Then I started on one edge and quilted those lines.
▪️ Next I marked 3 inch spaced lines and quilted those edge to edge.
▪️ I’m always feeding my quilt through on the same side so I don’t get pulled fabric. I start towards an edge.
▪️ And then I filled in my empty spaces using the guide bar that came with my walking foot at 1 inch spacing.
▪️And then repeat the whole process on the horizontal to create the grid.
▪️stitch length - 4.0
▪️Marking tool - Hera Marker by @cloverusa

This is a really easy design that results in a really nice effect.
