I’m excited to announce the annual heart quilt along! This year is the 7th annual heart quilt along and I cannot believe we have kept it going that long! The very first heart quilt came out months after my daughter was born and each year it has been so much fun to create a heart quilt with your fabric stash in mind.
This year I revisited the popular Patchwork Hearts quilt and upsized the block. You can sew up either version during the quilt along.

Stash friendly
I try to keep each of these heart quilts stash friendly so you can potentially pull something from your stash and start sewing along.
This year Patchwork Hearts II is fat quarter friendly, fat eight friendly or even scrap stash friendly. You can cut each quarter of the block background from your scrap stash.
You can also sew along using the original Patchwork Hearts quilt if you prefer! Both quilts are very similar with the new version being an upsized block. I changed the piecing on the new one just slightly to eliminate a little seam bulk.

I made this version of Patchwork Hearts using my scrap stash. I used low volumes for the backgrounds and a rainbow of colored hearts from my scrap bins. I think I’ll do a similar version during the quilt along using the Patchwork Hearts II pattern.
