For this version of Patchwork Flying Geese I used Evolve by Suzy Quilts for Art Gallery fabrics.
The Patchwork Flying Geese quilt pattern can be found in the Quilty Love pattern shop.
Evolve fabric by Suzy Quilts for Art Gallery fabrics
I was thrilled to get a bundle of Evolve from Suzy of Suzy Quilts. This fabric line is so beautiful with its blues, greens and a pop of orange. I decided to use it in one of my stash busters where no other fabrics were needed.
Patchwork Flying Geese quilt pattern
Patchwork Flying Geese came out a few years ago and is part of the Quilty Love Stash Buster Series. This series focuses on using your stash to sew up some beautiful quilts.
Patchwork Flying Geese is a fun and modern flying geese quilt. It uses the four at a time flying geese method for faster no waste flying geese. The pattern has you making the flying geese to the exact size but you can also use the Wing Clipper Ruler to upsize the units and then trim to size. Lately I prefer to upsize and trim. I get better results that way.
Tons of quilt sizes
The Patchwork Flying Geese quilt pattern includes tons of sizes:
Multi zig zag stitch quilting
I quilted up this Evolve Patchwork Flying Geese quilt myself using the multi stitch zig zag stitch on my Janome. I used to use this stitch all the time on my old machine since it couldn’t do the wavy stitch.
It gives a similar effect but I’m kind of liking the texture from the zig zag lately over the wavy stitch. Check out this tutorial for more info on the multi stitch zig zag quilting.
