  • Well… I didn’t do myself any favors using this fabric for this quilt 😅😅😅. I spent some time yesterday trying to perfectly align them for hand quilting and I’m over here still trying 😅😅😅 I think I need to do a combo of spray basting and pins. I also should have done us all a favor and given it a bigger border to allow some squaring up space after quilting. I didn’t have any trouble aligning my past samples because they were made with sturdier fabric.   • A new week, a new quilt 😀. When I started the weekly featured quilt I had no intentions of actually sewing it up each week but honestly I can’t resist. I’ve really been enjoying it. So here’s the current weekly featured quilt- ➕ Double The Plus ➕ This is a simple double sided plus quilt. I’m very excited to hand quilt this one since I don’t have a current hand quilting project right now. I made it using @fableism #sproutwovens because they are amazing to hand stitch.   • Once all the layers are smoothed out then it’s time for pins! 🧷🧷🧷 🔹 Quilting pins are slightly bent making them easier to grab all of the layers. 🔹 Add pins about a hand width apart. 🔹 Work in sections adding lots of pins, then closing lots of pins. 🔹 Find yourself a pin closer tool like this Kwik Klip because it saves your fingers and is so much easier. 🔹Once my quilt is basted I try to minimize handling. I hope this helps! I’ve struggled with pin basting for so long but feel like I’m finally getting better quilting results and am hoping this might help some of you do the same.
