Plus Pop quilt pattern – a new stash friendly plus quilt
I’m super excited to share the brand new Plus Pop quilt pattern! This new stash friendly quilt is quick and easy and super beginner friendly. Plus, it’s just fun to sew up! Plus Pop is inspired by the very popular Star Pop II quilt. It’s just one repeating block that goes together in a snap.
Grab some fat quarters from your stash, a little bit of yardage for the plus signs and you can sew this one together in a weekend.
The Plus Pop quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop.
Plus Pop Quilt pattern
Plus Pop is a fun and easy stash friendly quilt pattern. You can use fat eighths, fat quarters, quarter yards or your scrap stash for this patchwork plus pattern.
It goes together quick and easy with one repeating block. The best part is the pressing instructions which allow all of your seams to nest. No pins needed!
I brought the pattern along to retreat last week and several of my retreat friends sewed one up in a day while we were there.
The Plus Pop quilt pattern includes the following quilt sizes:
- Baby size quilt – 48″ x 56″
- Square throw size quilt – 64″ x 64″
- Large throw size quilt – 64″ x 72″
- Full size bed quilt – 80″ x 96″
- Queen/ King bed quilt – 96″ x 104″
Garden Dreams fabric by Riley Blake Designs
For this version of Plus Pop, I used the brand new Garden Dreams fabric by Amber Elliot for Riley Blake Designs. I was thrilled when Amber sent me a fat quarter bundle of this new line because it is so gorgeous. I immediately cut into it for this plus quilt.
This Fableism Camp Gingham in Tulipwood was the perfect match for the backing.
Wool quilt batting
I decided to use a wool batting on the Garden Dreams Plus Pop quilt for a little extra puffiness. This is the first time I’ve quilted with wool! I recently used the Quilters Dream Puff batting and it’s a similar feel. The Puff is a polyester so this is a good alternative if you want to skip the polyester.
I think this wool is slightly softer and drapier too.
I wanted the puffiness to come through on this one so the wavy lines are spaced 1.5 inches apart. Between the wool batting and the Fableism wovens backing this one is super soft and drapey. I’ll definitely be using wool again!
I have to say that I absolutely love this quilt and I love how soft, warm and snuggly it is. I’m thrilled with how it turned out.
