Today I am sharing a scrap stash Patchwork Hearts II quilt. This cute and scrappy heart quilt was sewn up using fabrics from both my scrap bins and my fabric stash. The hearts are arranged in rainbow order with fun and happy low volume backgrounds.
Patchwork Hearts II was the annual heart quilt pattern about 2 years ago. It’s still a popular one and one that I enjoy sewing up. It’s a really nice stash quilt.
The Patchwork Hearts II quilt pattern is in the shop. You can check out all of the Quilty Love heart patterns here.

Patchwork Hearts II quilt pattern
Patchwork Hearts II is a larger block and heart size than the original allowing it to sew together a little faster than the original. Just like the original it’s still nice and stash friendly.

Stash friendly heart quilt pattern
Since the heart quilt always falls at the beginning of the year when a lot of us commit to using our current fabrics, I do really try to make them stash friendly.
Patchwork Hearts two can be sewn up using fat quarters, fat eighths or your scrap stash.
Lots of quilt sizes included
Patchwork Hearts II includes the following size options in the instructions:
- Baby size – 48″ x 48″
- Lap size – 48″ x 60″
- Throw size – 60″ x 72″
- Full size bed quilt – 84″ x 96″
- Queen/king size bed quilt – 96″ x 108″
Fabric stash Patchwork Hearts II
For this version of Patchwork Hearts II I pulled low volumes from my stash for my backgrounds after first raiding my low volume scrap bin. The hearts are mostly from my scrap bins.

Wool batting
I tried something a little different on this one! I used a wool batting by Quilters Dream. It left this quilt with some really nice loft and it also feels super soft. I bet it will be warm too 🙂

Wavy Stitch quilting
This scrap stash Patchwork Hearts II quilt is quilted using the wavy stitch on my Janome MC6700p. I spaced my lines 1 inch apart. My settings: Stitch length: 3.0, Stitch width: 7.0.

Cut off corners project
I saved the cut off corners of this quilt and sewed it up into a cute little half square triangle panel. And then with that panel I made a Sunshine Sisters handbag by Knot and Thread. It turned out so cute! I’m not one to usually do anything with cut off corners but after making this I plan to be more intentional with them.
