Today I’m sharing the last Triangle Hexie sample that has been stashed away. This version of Triangle Hexies is sewn up using the Fableism Golden Hour wovens. I’m a huge fan of Fableism wovens because they add such beautiful texture and drapey-ness to any quilt.
Triangle Hexies is a fairly simple triangle quilt. It goes together using 60 degree triangles and traditional piecing (no Y seams). I always find that this one goes together quicker than I think it will. You can see all of the Triangle Hexie quilts I’ve made here and find the pattern in the shop here.
Triangle Hexies Quilt Pattern
Triangle Hexies came out quite a few years ago. It’s a hexie quilt that goes together with 60 degree triangles. I recommend this triangle ruler for the pattern. In fact, this triangle ruler works with pretty much all of my triangle and hexie quilts. It’s a nice addition to your ruler collection. The pattern includes downloadable templates but I do encourage the use of the ruler.
Once the triangles are cut – you add sashing and background and then assemble half hexies. This is a nice and scrappy quilt that works well with fat quarters or various fabrics from your stash.
The pattern includes four size options: Baby, throw (shown here), twin and queen.
Golden Hour Wovens by Fableism
For this version of Triangle Hexies I used a Golden Hour fat quarter bundle by Fableism. I absolutely love sewing with wovens because of the added texture and drape.
They can be slightly more finicky than a regular quilting cotton since they are a little thinner and more prone to fraying and stretching. I always pre-wash my wovens to pre-shrink them. I’m not a pre-washer normally but do recommend it for these wovens. I also use a smaller stitch length with them (like 1.8) and try to press seams to the side if possible. All of that ensure my quilt will be nice and sturdy for many years to come.

I sent this Golden Hour Triangle Hexies quilt off to Modern Textiles for quilting. We chose this cute Daisy Tiles pantograph.
For the binding – I used the same fabric as the background. It’s an Everyday Chambray by Fableism. I believe the Everyday Chambray has been discontinued but they have been replaced by their Watercolor Wovens.
The backing is Fableism Camp Gingham in Tulipwood. I really like to keep the entire quilt wovens for a really nice and soft quilt.
