New Quilty Love patterns are available!  North Star Quilt is one of the two patterns available today.

Fat Quarter Friendly

North Star quilt uses a traditional saw-tooth star quilt block with some added accents.   This pattern has nice big bold blocks 🙂  North Star quilt pattern is fat quarter friendly and has some piecing shortcuts to help it go together smoothly.

Grab your copy of North Star in the Quilty Love Pattern Shop.

Includes baby, throw and queen sizes

North Star includes instructions for a baby size, throw size, large throw size and even a queen size.  So far I have made the baby, throw and large throw sizes.   The throw size is blogged here.

North Star quilt = Big blocks

Big bold blocks make up this quilt pattern.  Choose your favorite fat quarter bundle for this one since those big blocks feature the fabrics nicely.

Choose an accent fabric to go with your fat quarter bundle.  You can never go wrong with a linen blend accent in my opinion!  Other accent ideas are a solid that coordinates with your fat quarter bundle or even a bold print from the same line as your fat quarter bundle.

I used Bonnie and Camille’s brand new fabric line The Good Life for my large throw version.  You can grab a fat quarter bundle here.  The accent fabric is my favorite yarn dyed linen in Black by Robert Kaufman.  north star quilt patternCan I just talk about this fabric line for a minute?!  Camille’s blog is the reason I started quilting several years back so I’ve been a huge fan of their fabrics since day one.  The Good Life fabric line is one of my current favorites lines out right now.  Such beautiful florals, navys, aquas, reds and pinks and all scaled so perfectly…  It’s a beauty for sure!north star quilt pattern north star quilt patternNorth Star Quilt has a little accent square between blocks.  Linen is always a good choice!  Robert Kaufman Yarn Dyed Linen’s are my personal favorite!  north star quilt pattern north star quilt patternI straight line quilted 3/4in lines on this version of North Star using a walking foot.

Janome sent me their brand new MC6700P to review for a couple of weeks so this quilt was pieced and quilted on this dream machine.  I can’t get over the way it straight line quilts!  So smooth!  It’s easy to keep the lines nice and straight with the walking foot guide and it feeds the fabrics through like a dream.
