Today I’m sharing this Poppie Cotton Mushroom Blooms Hexie Framed quilt! It’s been a while since I’ve sewn up a Hexie Framed quilt! This modern hexagon quilt goes together with traditional piecing. No Y seams! You can cut all of the hexagons using a half hexie ruler or a triangle ruler.

Hexie Framed quilt pattern
I’ve been itching to sew up a Hexie Framed quilt for a while so when I received this fabric from Poppie Cotton I planned it for this quilt. I updated the Hexie Framed quilt pattern several years ago to include a larger hexie option. With the larger hexies the quilt top sews together a little faster.
Plus these larger hexies show off this cute fabric a little more too.
The Hexie Framed quilt pattern is more of an intermediate pattern only because you are sewing angles. I do think an ambitious beginner could tackle this quilt because that’s what one of my sisters did! It was her first quilt ever! I do recommend using a half hexie ruler or a triangle ruler for more accuracy. Lately I just use this triangle ruler because I find it easier to cut the hexies and way more versatile for future projects.
Tons of size options
The Hexie Framed quilt pattern includes tons of a sizes and a few options! Choose either a large (like this one shown here) or a small hexie.
Long Arm Quilting
I sent this hexie quilt off to Modern Textiles for quilting. I haven’t been sending in as many quilts lately and oh how I’ve missed it!
We chose this flower pantograph called Peak Blooms by The Long Arm League.
