Traditional meets modern with this Warp and Weft Lucky Links Quilt

Today I’m sharing another Lucky Links Irish Chain quilt sample. This one is sewn up in moody blues using the newer Ruby Star Society Ooh Lucky Lucky Warp and Weft fabrics. Lucky Links is the newest pattern in the shop and it combines the traditional Irish Chain block with a fun and modern fat eighth friendly block.

The Lucky Links Irish Chain quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop.

Lucky Links quilt pattern

Lucky Links combines the traditional chain link block with a fun fat eighth friendly block. This one is all block based using these two repeating blocks. No sashing needed!

The chain block goes together nicely with strip piecing shortcuts.

Lucky Links includes lots of quilt sizes from baby all the way up to large bed size.

Ooh Lucky Lucky Warp and Weft fabrics by Ruby Star Society

I’m always thrilled when Ruby Star Society comes out with another Warp and Weft line. These are their wovens line so the fabrics are a looser weave and nice and drapey. This is the latest one that came out recently called Ooh Lucky Lucky. I really love the colors of this one with the pretty pinks, bright blues and even a pop of black.

I paired this line with their Hue Crossweaves. The background is Blue Jeans and the chain block is Thunder.

Orange peel long arm quilting

I sent this Lucky Links quilt off to Modern Textiles for quilting. We went with the classic orange peel design.

And to keep this quilt entirely wovens and super drapey I chose a plaid from the fabric line for the backing. This is the Party Dress Plaid in Wildflower from the line. The binding is also from the fabric line.

I’m really loving the dark background and will definitely be making more quilts darker like this.
