Jelly Stripes Quilt Pattern – Quick, Modern, and Jelly Roll Friendly

Today I’m sharing another Jelly Stripes Quilt using the new Jelly Stripes Quilt Pattern. Jelly Stripes is a cheerful, stash-busting design made to help you sew through those beautiful fabrics you’ve been saving! This pattern is all about easy strip piecing, quick finishes, and big impact. Whether you’re brand new to quilting or just craving a fast finish, this one comes together in no time – perfect for a weekend sew-along or even a productive afternoon.

New Stash Buster for Your Fabric Stash

If your fabric bins are starting to overflow, this pattern will help you put them to good use. Jelly Stripes is the newest Quilty Love Stash Buster quilt pattern – you can pull from fat quarters, layer cakes, jelly rolls, or fat eighths, and it all works beautifully. The simple layout makes it so easy to mix and match prints, play with color stories, or blend fabric collections.

I try to keep these stash busters super duper stash friendly. Most -like this one – don’t require any additional background or accent fabric.

Ruby Star Society Sugar Maple Jelly Roll Quilt

For this version of Jelly Stripes I used a Sugar Maple Jelly Roll by Ruby Star Society. A jelly roll works almost perfectly for the medium throw. You’ll need to add 2 extra WOF strips to your jelly roll. I suggest finding a binding fabric or even a backing fabric and cutting your two extra strips from that.

If you want to make the entire quilt from just one jelly roll than you can do that with the small throw size. You’ll need 36 width of fabric strips for that one.

Multiple Quilt Sizes Included

From baby quilts to bed quilts, Jelly Stripes has you covered. The pattern includes five sizes – baby, small throw, medium throw, large throw, and large bed. The version shown here is the medium throw, a perfect size for cozying up on the couch or gifting to a friend.

Scrappy or Color-Blocked – Both Shine

You can sew Jelly Stripes two ways: go fully scrappy or try a bold color-blocked look. The scrappy version has that playful, eclectic vibe – perfect for showing off favorite prints – while the color-blocked version leans modern and graphic. No matter which direction you choose, both have a clean, fresh feel that shows off your fabric beautifully.

In this Sugar Maple version – I went with a color blocked look as much as I could. That means I matched yellows with yellows, orange with orange, etc.

Beginner Friendly + Quick to Finish

This pattern is fast, beginner-friendly, and stress-free. The straightforward strip piecing means there’s no complicated construction, so you can relax and enjoy the process. It’s a great “palette cleanser” project between bigger quilts – something you can start and finish quickly while still getting that satisfying quilt-top finish.

Long Arm Quilting

This Sugar Maple Jelly Stripes was sent off to Modern Textiles for quilting. We chose this super fun Honey Honey Panto.

The Jelly Stripes Quilt Pattern is all about easy sewing – simple, modern design, stash-friendly cutting, and fast results. Grab a jelly roll or raid your scrap bin and get ready for some easy, happy quilting!
