Color Pop Playground North Star Quilt – A Modern Fat Quarter Star Quilt Pattern
Today I’m excited to share my Color Pop Playground North Star Quilt! I finished up this quilt a few months ago using this brand new fabric line by Kristen Perreault for Andover Fabrics.
North Star is a fat quarter friendly sawtooth star quilt with nice big bold blocks.

North Star Quilt Pattern
The North Star quilt is a longtime favorite Quilty Love pattern and always a fun one to revisit. The sawtooth star design is classic but feels modern and bold with these playful Color Pop Playground fabrics.
I paired these fun and colorful prints with a bold navy background and a light cream accent.
This design features large-scale sawtooth stars, making it an intermediate or confident beginner quilt. You’ll get to try a few fun techniques, including eight-at-a-time and two-at-a-time half-square triangles – both explained step-by-step in the pattern. There’s also a bit of seam matching to keep those star points crisp and tidy.
Fat Quarter Friendly Quilt Pattern
The North Star quilt pattern uses big, bold sawtooth stars with unique accent details. It’s fat quarter friendly and includes a few smart piecing shortcuts to make assembly smooth and efficient.

I loved mixing and matching these Color Pop Playground fabrics for each star block. The bold prints and cheerful colors give it such a fun, modern vibe. The navy really makes these colors pop too.
The pattern includes instructions for baby, two throw sizes, and a queen size, so you can make one for every space or occasion.
