Today I’m excited to share the brand new Plus Charmed quilt! Plus Charmed is a charm friendly quilt pattern that features big bold plus blocks. Not only is Plus Charmed charm square friendly, it is also layer cake, fat quarter and stash friendly.
Plus Charmed is a modern plus quilt with nice big and bold blocks. It goes together nicely with strip piecing and your favorite fabrics. What I love about this one is that you can use some of your favorite leftover fabrics and still make a big impact with them.

Plus Charmed Quilt pattern
I’m so excited to introduce this new modern plus quilt pattern. Plus Charmed is inspired by Plus Squared that I designed many years ago. I’ve had this larger block version in my sketches for years and every once in a while I would think about re-visiting it. But it never happened. I finally had the urge to sew it up this past month or so and turn it into a pattern.
It’s a nice and simple pattern that goes together easily with strip piecing shortcuts, big squares and results in a big block. I got really excited to sew up a bunch of them so it’s going to work well with a variety of fabrics!
4 sizes included
There are four sizes included in the quilt pattern:
- Baby size – 41″ x 41″
- Square throw size – 60″ x 60″
- Large throw size – 60″ x 80″
- Queen/King bed size – 100″ x 100″
Plus Charmed Material requirements
You can use any of the following fabrics for the plus’ in Plus Charmed:
- Charm squares (5″ squares)
- Layer Cake squares (10″ squares)
- Fat quarters or your scrap stash
Petunia Plus Charmed quilt
For this Plus Charmed quilt I used some leftover Ruby Star Society Petunia fabrics and Spark fabrics I had on hand. You don’t need much fabric for each block so a little goes a long way! I think this is the third quilt I’ve made using this Petunia fat quarter bundle I had.
Wavy Stitch Quilting
I decided to quilt up this Petunia Plus Charmed myself using the wavy stitch. I used a larger stitch length on this than I normally use and it stretches the curves out a bit. This is stitch 8 on my Janome MC6700p. Stitch length is 4.0 and width is 7.0. The lines are spaced 3/4 inch apart.
