Ombre Hexie Pop Quilt - The Warm version

Today I’m sharing this Ombre Hexie Pop quilt – the warm version. I started this quilt so long ago and then finally finished it up months ago. I’m almost caught up blogging all of my completed quilts so it’s time this Warm ombre Hexie Pop gets blogged.

I made a similar cool version of this Hexie Pop here. Both of these ombre quilts are made using VandCo ombre Confetti Fabrics. I split the ombre colors into warms and cools and made two quilts.

VandCo Confetti ombre fabrics

The star of this modern hexie quilt is these VandCo Confetti ombre fabrics! I absolutely love working with VandCo ombre and have made many ombre quilts over the years.

Vanessa started with solid ombre and has now expanded the VandCo ombres into fun textures like these confetti ombres. The confetti adds just the right amount of texture to the fabrics.

The background is Kona Cotton white.

Look at those tiny baby hands below! That’s how long ago this quilt was started.

Hexie Pop quilt pattern

Hexie Pop is a quick and easy half hexie quilt pattern. This fun and modern hexie quilt is much easier to make than it might look like. There are no Y seams and instead it’s all traditionally pieced.

The quilt pattern includes a simple template to cut the background fabrics. Once everything is cut, piecing is super easy.

The quilt pattern includes pressing instructions so all of the seams will nest and stay nice and sharp. I’ve also sized it in a way where you shouldn’t lose any of your hexie points.

Two color options included in the hexie quilt pattern

The Hexie Pop quilt pattern includes two color options. You can sew up a Hexie Pop using just three fabrics that repeat in the rows or give each row their own print like the ombre quilt featured here.

I used seven different Confetti Ombre Fabrics for this warm version Hexie Pop quilt.

Lots of quilt sizes

The Hexie Pop quilt pattern includes lots of quilt sizes. The following quilt sizes are included in the quilt pattern:

Baby or Crib size quilt
Throw size quilt
Twin size bed quilt
Queen size bed quilt
King size bed quilt

The ombre Hexie Pop in this post is the throw size.

Modern Hexie quilt

I really enjoy sewing up modern hexie and modern triangle quilts. Both are constructed similarity in that they have 60 degree angles. This quilt pattern uses half hexies which are much easier to piece than a whole hexie.

The Hexie Pop quilt pattern includes a template to cut the half hexies but I recommend a ruler for better results. You can use a half hexie ruler or better yet, a 60 degree triangle ruler!

This 8.5 inch triangle ruler is one of my favorites and really the only one you will need for any triangle OR hexie quilts you make from here on out.
