Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt
Today I’m sharing this Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt 🙂 I’m on a mission to update the blog with all of the completed quilts since I’ve been slacking so here’s one that was finished last year.
I can’t stop making Lucky Log Cabins quilts because they are so quick and easy and really fun to sew up. Lucky Log Cabins is the first in the Quilty Love Stash Buster quilt pattern series and a stash buster it is!
It’s perfect for those fat quarters or jelly roll strips in your stash and I promise this log cabin look alike looks good in all fabrics! I’ve made quite a few Lucky Log Cabins quilts and you can view them all here.
Lucky Log Cabins is in the Quilty Love pattern shop.
Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt
I was so excited to sew up this Ombre Wovens fabric by VandCo for Moda Fabrics. I’ve been a long time fan of VandCo ombres and have used many of them over the years. These wovens are a little different than the quilting cottons but just as pretty.
I love using wovens and other non traditional substrates in my quilts so I always look forward to sewing with something like these.
The ombre effect on these VandCo ombre wovens is with lines that cascade across the width of fabric.
For this Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt I used just the cool colors from the fabric line. I used the warm colors in this Star Fall quilt here.
I had half yards of each fabric so instead of using fat quarters I used half yards for this Lucky Log Cabins quilt.
Lucky Log Cabins quilt pattern
Lucky Log Cabins is a Quilty Love Stash Buster and one that I think you will love. It’s a super fast and easy quilt to sew up and a true stash buster. Piecing is super random making it a fun and easy quilt.
Lucky Log Cabins includes tons of quilt sizes in the quilt pattern:
- Baby Size
- Small throw or lap size
- Medium throw size (pictured here)
- Large throw size
- Twin size bed quilt
- Full size bed quilt
- Queen size bed quilt
- King size bed quilt
This Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt is the medium throw size. It’s a nice size throw.
Stash Buster Quilt Pattern
Lucky Log Cabins is a true stash buster because it doesn’t require any background fabric. You can use a variety of fabric cuts to sew up this fast and easy log cabin look alike quilt.
Use fat eighths, fat quarters, 1/4 yards, jelly roll strips or half yards like I used here for this stash buster quilt pattern.
Log Cabin look alike quilt
Lucky Log Cabins ends up looking kind of like a log cabin quilt. It’s not a true log cabin quilt block. Instead this one is sewn together with strip piecing shortcuts.
Ombre Wide Back fabric
This Ombre Wovens Lucky Log Cabins quilt is backed in an Ombre Confetti Wide back fabric. I like this more neutral wide back on this quilt since the front is vibrant and busy.
Long Arm Quilting
This Ombre Wovens quilt is long arm quilted by Knot and Thread.
