I polled my email subscribers recently to see which quilt they wanted as a quilt along and Expanding Stars was the clear winner! I’m pretty thrilled about that because I’ve been looking forward to doing this one.
It’s a good beginner friendly quilt and there are a lot of variations we can do.
It will be fun planning these star quilts out!

WEEK FOUR: Assemble quilt tops

MATERIALS NEEDED
- Expanding Stars quilt pattern: PDF VERSION – PAPER VERSION
- Fabrics (See image below)
- Basic quilt rulers
- Rotating cutting mat – If you don’t have a rotating cutting mat give this one a try! They are awesome for trimming half square triangles. I’ve had this one for years and still love it.

INSPIRATION
This Expanding Stars quilt is the original one! It’s done up in these gorgeous Cotton and Steel fabrics.
This is a newer Expanding Stars quilt that I made up for Ruby Star Society using their brand new Pop fabric line. This is the new smaller throw size at 60in square.
The Expanding Stars quilt pattern was expanded (ha) to include more sizes. This bold solids version became the new cover quilt.
I haven’t shared this baby size much. It was a quick test quilt from when the pattern was written up.
This cute little baby size quilt was made up for the Sweet Prairie fabric blog tour.
