Sweet Summertime Quilt – the solids version

Today’s blog post is the solids Sweet Summertime quilt. The Sweet Summertime quilt pattern is in the Quilty Love pattern shop.

I made this Sweet Summertime quilt up last spring using these bright and happy Kona Cotton solids.

Colors are: Ice Peach, Melon, Creamsicle, Mango, Zucchini, Cactus, Limelight, Mint, Aqua, Jamaica, Lagoon and Pacific

The background is a fun black and white polka dot print by Jen Kingwell for Moda that seems to be out of print.

These colors sure left a pretty pile of chain piecing.

Sweet Summertime quilt pattern

Sweet Summertime is a block based fat quarter friendly quilt pattern. This is a mix and match fat quarter quilt. Those are some of my favorite quilts to design because I love starting with a fat quarter bundle.

All the quilt sizes

Sweet Summertime includes instructions for a baby size quilt, a throw size quilt and a twin size quilt.

I would say this is an intermediate quilt pattern or for the ambitious beginner quilter.

The quilting on this solids quilt is done by Knot and Thread Design. I love this modern wave stitch. It looks good on everything!

The backing is a Carolyn Friedlander Widescreen in the color Niagara. It’s a a wideback which means no piecing. I absolutely love using wideback fabrics.
