Autumnville Quilt by Thimbleblossoms

I have a fun one to share with you today. I made this Autumville quilt last fall so let’s get it on the blog before this current fall is over!

Every once in a while I feel the need to make a quilt using a quilt pattern that isn’t mine…ha. It feels good to take a break from figuring out the math and just follow someone else’s. Last fall this Autumville quilt pattern by Thimbleblossoms was just that quilt.

This quilt was such a fun one to make! It has a lot of different blocks and a lot of different piecing but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a very satisfying quilt to make. The best part… I pulled all of the fabrics from my stash! They are an assortment of reds, oranges, aquas, greens and polka dots.

This quilt is huge! But I wanted to tackle the quilting myself. I find that really satisfying too ;). And oh my goodness, I’m remembering that I was very pregnant in that photo above…lol.

This Autumville quilt is quilted on a Janome MC6700p using the wavy (serpentine) stitch. It’s quilted just like you would quilt straight lines and the stitch does all of the work. If you have been following along for a while you know it’s my go-to when I quilt my own quilts. It’s the same method as this quilting tutorial.

This is the first medallion style quilt I’ve ever made and it sure was fun! I really enjoyed all of the different blocks that went into this one. That center star is especially pretty!

And the pumpkin blocks.. those are cute too!

To keep this fall quilt nice and cozy, I backed it in this red polka dot flannel by Bonnie and Camille. This is a warm one!!

I was a little nervous quilting this one since it is so big! But I tell you what, that Janome MC6700p is a dream. There wasn’t a single pucker or even any loose fabric for that matter. I know this machine is amazing but it still surprised me with this one since it’s so big and so heavy with the flannel.

So pretty right!? This Autumnville quilt pattern can be found in Camille’s shop.
